Money Movers 1 and 2 had you in the control of the brothers escaping from prison then going back to prison and helping their dad escape. Money Movers 3 has you in control of one of the prison guards in the prison. This game apparently takes place during Money Movers 1 as the plot states that our guard is going to stop some prisoners who are trying to escape and we see an image of the brothers escaping. Our guard will now try to stop the escaping prisoners along with his dog.
Aesthetics:
The game’s visuals are pretty much the same from Money Movers 1 and 2 but the characters you control are a prison guard and his dog. The art style stays primarily the same along with strikingly similar terrain design which repeats for the most part. The music itself still has that noir feel to it with paired with a nice tone of mystery and stealth. The opening this time is also presented with the use of a comic book strip presentation. The only difference this time is that there is a voice over during the opening and ending scenes which is always a plus.
Gameplay:
Money Movers 3 has the same gameplay elements as the first two games. You are still able to control two characters but this time they are a guard and a dog. The guard can be controlled with the use of the WASD keys and the dog can be controlled with the use of the arrow keys. Just like the first two games, the players have to control these two separately or collectively to progress in the game. The way to complete the level is to capture the escaped prisoners. There could be more than one prisoner per level. There are different ways to capture the prisoners so let’s start with the first one. The first way to do it is to get the dog ear the prisoner. When the prisoner is frozen in fear, let the guard get near them and cuff them. It’s important to cuff the prisoner when they are frozen in fear as they can still hurt the guard resulting in a game over. One other way to capture the guards is to use the lasers. The lasers will only freeze them in fear so you still need to let the guard come close and cuff the prisoners. The last way is to throw or drop an item on the prisoners. This method instantly knocks them which counts as getting caught as well so you don’t need to cuff them as well. The dog can do it as well provided that it drops the items. There are also the money bags again and there are three per level. Then again why the guard would need these money bags is a bit mystery. Then again he could be just getting them so that the prisoners can’t get them as well. Help our guard and his dog catch those criminals.
